Product Description : The Swede-O Tarsal Lok Ankle Brace combines the superior comfort of a lace-up brace with the greater support provided by a rigid brace. The Swede-O Tarsal Lok ankle brace features a patented built-in stabilizer that actually molds to the shape of your ankle from your body heat. This achieves a more custom fit and provides better control of the ankle. Because the majority of the Tarsal Loks support is provided by the shape and placement of the built-in stabilizer, the Tarsal Lok does not need the excessive material around the forefoot and heel that are normally found in other lace-up ankle braces. The Tarsal Lok is a low profile ankle brace and will fit in almost any shoe style.Swede-O Ankle Brace Sizing Guide:X-Small, Men's shoe sizes 3-5, Women's 4-6Small, Men's shoe sizes 6-7, Women's 7-9Medium, Men's shoe sizes 8-10, Women's 10-11Large, Men's shoe sizes 11-12, Women's 12-13X-Large, Men's shoe sizes 13-14, Women's 14+ The ankle braces do support your ankle properly but rub my side ankle bone when I try to run in them...very uncomfortable These make a nice substitute for taping, as they are strong and light. They are not quite thin enough that you will be able to to tighten your shoes the same, but they are pretty close.I have used and own several other styles, but this is my favorite brace I've found. I wear mine for basketball, and while they will not prevent a catastrophic sprain like I am recovering from, they provide the support and reassurance you need to be able to work your ankle back into shape. If you have unlimited free tape, and somebody to do it for you, go with it. If you want something strong, light, flexible without feeling unstable, and as thin as one can expect, try these. I've used many different brand ankle braces and these are by far the best in every respect. Once worn a few times, they fit around your foot like they are custom made for you. They are slim and you kind of forget you have them on with a pair of mid top shoes. They don't feel like they restrict your movement or cut into your foot like all others I've tried and the build quality is excellent! The way the laces are set up you can get these on and off with even tension across them very well. I've been using these for almost two years for BMX and have had no issues with them or any ankle issues while waring them! the portion under your arch will be the only thing that may bug you but once broken in you will forget they are on I swear. I've also gotten another friend who hurt his ankle from BMX get a pair of these and he will not ride without them! I'm sure they would be great for skating or anything else really.
